-----< comments >----------------------------------------------------------
1. Screamager - sc-prtnd. xm 6.211 - ***+
* Well, the drums bang too much for my taste. The other instuments could
be a bit louder ;)
* nifty keen tuneage... lots o neato variations and stuff
* all these x's make me feel like i'm filling out a lottery-ticket :)
kinda like, "oh yes, if i vote right, i'll win :>". this x went in
a bit lower than middle, coz this just isn't that good a tune.
* Yep, this ain't bad. Especially the detail with the syncoped cymbals.
The lead isn't that much to sing halleluja about, though.
* well i guess this rating system is relative to the average TT track :)
but this track is worth it - the opening and closing bar 'motif',
if you like, were well done and would've made a great track on their
own, but it changes into a more lively section, which is very well
crafted throughout and uses a very effective chord progression. also
a well done beat, and melodies which drive the song in its liveliness.
great, complex structure seen here too (for once :) ) with the smooth
'bridge' section from pattern 24. very well done overall.
* Wow ! Cool melody and nice beat. The chords are also well made. Overal
l technique is good. I like this one..
* happy... very 80s. :) the leads were a bit piercing and shrill at time
s, but it didn't really detract from the tune.
* one of the best songs of the pack. very happy, but still well
orchistrated. the snare/hh combo sounded very good. the lead was
very.. um... *AHHHH* in your face. but still good. intro was very
good.
* Cool!
* Woo... AMAZiNG! This tune infested itself upon my brain, and just kept
on playing and replaying in my head. The best song at TT29, and maybe
YOUR best song ever,... So far anyways =)
2. Ballistique & Argh - tb-cpc . it 5.889 - ***+
* Some problems keeping the measure - in intro part. And the end is a bi
t hasty...
* the melody is almost unaudible
* interesting song... a little too repetitive tho
* ballistique has always made my mouth water. but i expected more from o
ne of the regulars. as for this tune, it would've been hard to do it b
etter, coz of the bad, bad samples. but the whole thing sounded a bit
outta tune anyways. and it doesn't deserve to win.
* Begining sounds like the theme for MiamiVice on c64. The melody seems
a bit boring to me, but it's above average.
* Quite nice.. lacks something, though.
* nice track! beginning is a blatant rip-off of big jim's soundtrack to
valhalla's 'os/2 demo' though. melody could do with being a little
more interesting. and cut those damn blips out, they get pretty
annoying :). i like it though. makes me feel like i'm in a train or
something.
* bravo!! really kool!!
* this song started out generally pretty average, the beat not being
anything marvellous; then came the melody. probably a little too full,
with i think more than 24 channels which i would say was pretty much
unwarranted. :) still, the smooth, soaring leads very much brought
life to the song, and were its saving grace. together it created a
listenable and nicely crafted tune - nice chord progressions, floating
dreamy melodies, etc.
* Hmm.. not much to say. This has good beat and nice echoed lead..
* scary.
* name fits song well. otherwise pretty good
* Cool!
* Cut paste 'n' copy maybe, but still a well thought out tune...
3. Ben-Jam - b-j_tt29.s3m 5.850 - ***+
* One of your better tunes I think, at least in style.
* Good variations; needs a little work with orchestration methinks...
some percussion could've been made better... transitions were catchy
* taking me back to the old days. i didn't particularly like it there :)
ok, so i did. but that doesn't change anything!
* Hmm...this could've been something... But the lead-things on the
second parts were Logric (=high degree of ugliness)
* nice. well tracked. nice chords. fits the style well.
* This is pretty good. Even if the lead is a tad annoying. =)
* the bassline after the transition into the more lively section was nic
e - as was the transition itself. cool little groovy beat going, and
nice melodies too with that full sound.. the "techno" type chord
rhythm thing in order 11 was good/nice etc :)
* Wow ! This tune has quite nice mellow beginning.. I thought it remains
in that mood. But the following dance part is really nice. It has suit
able melody which fits in it. I like the rhythm..
* great song! even though the style is a tad cliched, i enjoyed this a
lot. your panning, however, was on some mysterious craq. just pan ev
erything to the middle; it won't sound that bad :)
* sounds like video game music... but was on the whole pretty cool. nee
ds more variation though
* Average
* Nice intro, nice progression. A tune of many GOOD parts which went to
gether well.
* WooHoo... an un-boreing song... and well written too!! This one COULD
have been Really good... but lacked a certain 'Jen-uh-sei-kwa'
4. Tanigon - tanitt29. xm 5.842 - ***+
* Nicely mixed. Reminds me of ELP; - your favourite music??
* original!
* very nicely done; a speedy jam we can all look up to :)
* very simple, yet very different ( sounds like a cook-book, eh? :> ).
i hope to hear more from tanigon, this track was great! next! ( messag
e to axl: hey, can you get the voting form to serve beer? :> ).
* wow. that's all i have to say. truly original, never heard anything
like this. (though those crashes-thing, reminds me a tad about
the tp5 pulse demo, which rocked). great work, i look forward to
hear more from you.
* Hey, although disappointingly ugly intro, it has some nice turns
and twists to it.
* interesting track here. i haven't heard this style too often before. i
love those cymbal crashes in the middle, although they go on a bit
too long. the end is weird as hell but you've got good control over
your tracking and i respect that. rock on.
* Hmm. Cheesy. =)
* the building up beat at the beginning is quite good. the symphony-type
'hits' were well done, especially with such a crap choice of samples
(sorry yannis! :) ) which shows at least a good control over sample
use/application.. the 'hits' were perhaps overdone, ie. repeated too
often though, but then again, there wasn't too much else to the song.
:) it would've helped a lot and would have given a much more solid
feel if it were longer and more structure was introduced.
* Cool tune ! It has impressive breaks and nice bass. That's pitty the t
une is too short. But anyway, really a nice piece.
* BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. BOOM BOOM BOOM. that intro was *really* bori
ng, but the rest of the song did not disappoint at all. great job!
* boring.. but the break at pat11 was awesome... it should have then
jumped keys and started a lead. *could* have been awesome.. but you
just didn't develop it enough. and after hearing the break like 15
times in a row in different keys it does get old :)
* Cool!
* Sounds very TEKKKNOO at the beginning, but turns out to be actually
quit different, and quite good too!!
5. Smash - hypnotic. xm 5.789 - ***+
* Who is the owner of those eyes? Didn't hypnotize, appetize, not apolog
ize, at least ;)
* nice sounds, but a little boring...
* neat-o tune. strange variations/progressions. :) but i like
strange...
* could've been as good as what we've heard from radix. but it isn't. th
e verse is very well done. but the other parts aren't worthy ;). even
so, it's the best tune this time, and deserves to win...
* Yeah! Put that funky feeling on a hold! :)
Very nice composition, but the lead is genre-breaking and
destroys much of the feel. But overall pleasant.
* ooh, a pools of poison style note stab :P. the notes fit together ok
but your bass needs work. plus the song is too repetitive; it never
seems to go anywhere despite the fact that it goes through a few
sequences. drums too repetitive, and that double hihat is annoying.
* kool. jazzy hoppy....
* well, this was a nice groovy track; the first few patterns (yet
another unexptected start btw) reminded me very much of this funky
house track i know :) there was a nice and solid beat, the
melodies/etc also quite solid and effective, though slightly empty at
times. nice 'motif' throughout though - the note fluctuating up and
down one semitone - it's surprising how such little things add to a
piece, especially with the swing beat.
* Cool funky tune ! The drumbeat is really nice and the tracking techniq
ue is very good.
* cool. the lead didn't stand out that much, and it seemed a little sub
dued... other than that, it ruled.
* lalalala - off we go dancing into the sunset. happy tune!
* Sucks
* I`m gonna have to say something that I beleived I`d never say to this
Guy..... This was tuntastic. Great prog, good break + mid 8. although
I did find synth5 was soft and synth 1 was to loud. Apart from that
great. :) TB
* Nice, Cute, Well written, Nice ideas, Overall a good song! But some
and ONLY some parts weren't THAT good...
6. Laser Harp - twodays . it 5.722 - ***+
* Did you spend these two days in company with Mr. Jarre ? Would like to
invite him, too ;)
Sounds good. Nicely mixed.
* oxygene iv came to my mind listening to this tune :]
* And the winner is.... Laser Harp!
Damn good melody, stayed with me long after the traker had stop.
* excellent tune!!! is it just me or does this sound like a jarre
tune? :)
* hmmm... it tastes cheese!!! :)
* Hey, the czech republic and slovakia is still in union, everyone
like jarre it seems :). I know serveral people down there, and
they are all jarre-fans, seems like I can raise that count by 1. Nice
tune :).
* Roger Whittaker could've sung this one.
* hmm i've heard that progression somewhere before. oh well what the
hell, a good track. a but bland but nevertheless good.
* Reminds me of the music in Lemmings. But that's not a bad thing. =)
* woah, what a great and highly emotional piece! i'm sure i've heard
that chord progression somewhere, but it's still very fresh and
appropriate. the beat wasn't anything spectacular but the sheer power
of the chords wasn't affected by this very much. very enjoyable music,
though it deserved a somewhat better ending. :)
* where is .sk?
* yet another that i think i have heard before ;) love the tune
though. very relaxing until the drums came in.. so i just muted them
and kept listening :) very nice w/o the drums :)
* Average
* It`s amazing how many 8o`s style tunes came out of this pack. This is
definately the best in the pack.
* Here's another 'close your eyes and take a deep breath' song. I like
it.. =)
7. Lonewolf - lw_moon . xm 5.650 - ***+
* Well known style, but nicely done.
* nice, but unoriginal
* Keep up the good tune, and do you think you can try for something
a little cyberpunkish? Also this tune was cloe to home for me, keep
up the good work.
* very professional sounding tune
* ccce enough. norwegians are getting mighty :) - i see three of 'em com
peting this time. hmmm... scary!
* Ugh.. dissonance galore. Nice solo, but the background plink-plonk
is ugly and increasingly annoying.
* this song takes a loooong time to get anywhere. how long can a tune
survive on just two chords? that background melody got annoying too.
you've got good technique so why not use it to make something with a
little more variation?
* wowww!! good channel effect, nice melody, progression....
* hmm maybe not a solid '7' but a nice listenable track, even though
somewhat short. great beat throughout, especially after the slow part.
that occasional 'bass' note at the end was somewhat awkward with its
out-of-timeness, and a little overpowering, but generally not a bad
little 'ambient' piece.
* Interesting tune with wide sound. It has nice slow change in the middl
e. The beat is also good but the tune is too short :(
* very nice. it's a little repetitive, but in a good way. :)
* nicely progressive tune. very beepy. beggining was really good
strings and bass together sounded very full and nice. fade ending
sucks as always though
* Average
* Liked the break/ending most of all. The rest of it was very
repetertive. Also, Bad ending. Last part was to short and should have
gone on for longer.
* Catchy ostinato thingee, and cute 'wong effect' in the second half
of the tewnbut nothing really special to back that up !
8. Lagioto - rl_dram . it 5.611 - ***+
* Just the kinda music, I like. BUT could have a middle part, too?
* cheesy.
* In the TT compo, I feel some people have forgot how to enjoy music.
But with this song it was easy to do.
* professional, majestic-sounding tune... me likes
* uhm... i can't really vote properly for this, since my processor could
n't handle it! but i heard the first few patterns, and give my vote ba
sed on that.
* What's up with the intro? Also sprach Zarathustra?
Strauss eat your heart out. (..or was that NOT)
This was booooooooo(etc.)ring.
* it's the end of the movie kinda music. not bad, but some of the chords
seem to mix like milk and water :), and they don't change enough. i
like it tho. uplifting.
* A bit cheesy but pretty well done. :P The panning env. on the strings
was very annoying though.
* woah this harmony/melody thing, i should really try it someday! ;)
yeah, some beautiful soaring chords/harmonies throughout this one,
with the melodies not breaking the dreamy mood. nice subtle buildup
of the bassline which helped the entrance of the beat - which also
was not overpowering, but fit well. the 'thinning out' at the end was
quite well, done too, and well crafted all-round.
* Nice mellow tune ! Overal it has great sound but I think those NNAs we
re a bit overused. There are also too much channels used. I suppose th
is could be achieved with less channels and no loss of sound quality.
Anyway a nice piece..
* nice.
* soothing tune. makes a good break in all this techno stuff :) the
panning on the strings gets nerve-poundingly frustrating after the
first few patterns though
* Average
* Lagster :) ya perc was a bit to loud. Nice lead + prog.
* This sort of 'dreamy' muzic kicks ass, especially when it's
accompanied by a cool rhythm all the way thru. This one made me float
.. high high up.. or was that the beer ?
9. Toejam - toe-slp!. it 5.278 - ***
* Good debut. Enrightens expectations for the future.
* started out interesting but became drawn out
* Too empty.. Standard build.. Lacks variation.. Nice solo, though.
* if this is really your first release then congrats, you don't have
a long way to go... nice chords, nice atmosphere. the tune cried out
for a snare tho. next time :). cute track.
* Um.. do you only ever use 2 chords? (Amin, Cmaj) :P Otherwise pretty d
ecent.
* a very nice, solid almost ambient piece. the evoked imagery fitted the
title quite well. :) (ie. that of penguins and antarctica etc. etc. :)
)
the melody at the beginning was sparse, but weren't bad - though they
seemed to disappear for quite a while till the end, though they left
the song to a more ambient feel, just flowing along. a nice tune, nice
atmosphere.
* There is cool mood in this one ! I like the theme ;) The chip lead is
great and it has also nice bleeding chords..
* hey, this is cool...
* i think i have heard that progression before too :) but a cool song.
very ambient-like and soothing. i did however keep saying ok.. NOW
the drums are going to pick up... but.. um.. no
* Sucks
* Crackin' mellow sorta tune. Nice and simple.
* Weird kind of dreamy style here, Nice and relaxing. But, Yes, kind
of boreing too. But, by my (shitty) standards dreamy songs are aloud
to be boreing. So there :P
10. Smeghead - smeg_in2. it 5.111 - ***
* Kinda intro/demo style. Like it.
* Deep and Chaotic, just the way I like it man. B-)
* i don't understand this tune. but neither does anyone else i guess.
* Now this one was not much to listen to.
* i dig this. muchly. it's got those chords to die for, and good
technique. why have i never heard this guy's stuff before?
* this song didn't sound very promising at first, and continued in the
same way for a few patterns (quite reminiscent of maelcum's willie
nelson tunes =) ) but then came an overwhelmingly complex section
which took me unawares! the key change in pattern 7 was very well done
, even if too close to the other big change from the emptier section.
very well layered and structured with basslines and melodies and
chords blending in to produce a very tight and listenable track. quite
a well done piece for sure.
* I don't see too much ideas in this. It has weird beginning. But the ne
xt part is better indeed. I don't think it was neccessary to use so mu
ch channels..
* ewww. not so great.
* really good tune.. i thought it was going to suck until the drumtrak
kicked in... then it became excellent. Sounded almost like nin until
the lead. then it went into a PurpleMotion phase.. which i guess is
excusable =] progression was very good. i think im gonna keep this
tune :)
* Cool!
* Nice song. A mixture between weird and cool. Just lacked in variation!
11. Caramel - crmampou. xm 4.684 - ***
* Stereo could be good, don't you think? And bored me a bit..
* catchy tuneage; end was a bit abrupt (to be expected in a weekly
compo of coz)
* hey, i kinda liked this one. <stuffs some caramel's down his throat>.
or is it just my taste in caramel's? :)
* I dig this, it's funky. Good melody and drums. You made the best of
the samples you had. Keep it up mon. (btw "friends" sucks! :)
* Oh, soundz rockin? bluesy?? hmm, anyway kool phrases....
* quite a mediocre track - there wasn't really much that brought life to
it - the melodies didn't seem to be going anywhere, as key changes or
a decent chord progression (was there one at all?) would've achieved.
still, not total crap. :)
* Cool ! Nice analogue-like sound in this one. It has a nice rhythm..
* hey, i like it! a lot! stick with ft2, by the way. :)
* strange tune but kinda nice. well done, but nothing jumps out as
really good :(
* Sucks
* You`ve done better, maybe its just using XM :)
* Hmm.. a song with a style which doesn't seem to be my cup'o'tea...
The overall sound of this song wasn't that great, but some parts were
cewt...
12. FireStarter - fs-inter. xm 4.474 - **+
* Seems CP has a little buggy there, coz with my IW channels 10&14 didn'
t turn off at all. So I decided to take FT instead. Recognized, that I
have not been the only one having problems with that tuning ;)
* Nice tune, but who the hell are you?
* this tune was pretty cool... it was catchy and had some nice rhythm
and bass to it... the song itself was a bit plain but it had enough
thought put into it to make it worth listening to
* not good. no drift.
* Quite nice.. Too frequent use of the cymbals. A bit loud and noisy.
Tune/chord progression very similar to those of the old modules
by Misty & Daeron / DCS
* Suits the title. That bass is too repetitive and the melody needs
work... too many long continuous notes - try cutting the volume or
sliding down, anything for a bit of variation. Nevertheless not bad
at all.
* ok, it was quite an unexpected and abrupt beginning, especially for
a chord progression like that, which just hits you in the face. not
bad though, even though (the chords) they're not exactly new and
fresh. beat and bassline was quite decent, from what i heard of them
- a bit of fade-ins/outs on the chords would've been more effective
and refined.
what's with all these dull, sad sounding songs in this pack?! :) is
this proof that tracking a song in 5 hrs does not evoke happy
thoughts? :)
* This tune has nice beat. But the chords are very simple and not well m
ade. The melody is also not very strong..
* well... it's ok... nothing special. kinda loud and piercing, but this
is promising stuff.
* catch tune and nice chords. lead kinda sucked though. no building
intro.. it would have gotten higher if there had been one =]
* Sucks
13. Znap - bluejoin. xm 4.400 - **+
* Samples could be tuned a bit better, I think. ??
* interesting theme... bridge seems forced... percussion needs some
more highlighting
* it swings. 'engineering' should have been done better. it's not terrib
ly interesting, but with these samples, that's not easy to achieve.
* You shouldn't let the bassline follow the chords at such a rate.
The speed-changed part is nice, although it resembles Wave's mc4-tune
a bit, I thought. Flute/chip lead in start is great.
* Somebody's doing a Jeroen Tel with those tempos :D. It's happy, chirpy
and generally. Ok. Get away from those initial chords tho. It was
also a bit short. What the hell, it's tracked well. Anyway enough
babble.
* This is a bit good.
* well, a pretty standard affair; happy little melodies throughout, for
the happy, fun, chippy type song that it is.. simple but appropriate
enough beat.. the speed swing wasn't really very apparent - greater
swing would've been helped.
* Hmm.. nice jazzy concept. But those samples were really out of this st
yle eh ? The lead is very nice and the tune shows good skills in float
ing tempos. Nice try ! :)
* whoa, really? did you smoke it? was it yummy?
* do do do do dodo do dodo do. overandoverandoverandoverandoveran..etc..
* Sucks
* Nice song with good ideas, but its quite tedious too...
14. Beek - tgirl . it 4.368 - **+
* Would be nice in stereo, coz of the echoes and fx.
* i really liked how this song started out but the transitions in the
tune became too abrupt to even out the flow of this song.
* i've heard better beek. that's what i have to say about this :)
* Yeah. F8.
* hmmm, a bit too noisy. the samples don't seem to mix (which could have
been half-fixed with better volume control). also, your chord
progression consists only of inversions. which isn't terribly
imaginative now is it? :)
* another average tune, at least starting out. it developed a more
fuller feel with the melody, which were quite nice and well done.
the beat was adequate, nothing great. perhaps you should try making
the changes less abrupt, and structuring your songs according to some
general 'rules' would help; ie. verse/chorus, etc.. still, for someone
who's 13 years old (i bet you hear this a lot :) ) it's not half bad
and you potentially have a pretty good future ahead of you, starting
out that early. :)
* The bassline is not very good. The whole tune sonds weird to me. And t
here is also a lack of tracking technique I think..
* commendable, absolutely amazing! even the hideous sample set didn't k
eep you from rocking my world. keep it up.
* hated it at first... but it kinda grows on you. could have been much
better with cool strings though =P
* Average
* beeky. I did not like ya 8o`s style intro. The hole tune sounded very
empty. Not one of your better tunes.
* Bass and Rhythm, gotogether like enzyme and substrate... or whatever.
ie. The bass and the rhythm went together very well. But the rest
wasn't amazing. Slightly boreing. But Very Good .
15. GooRoo - planetx . it 4.000 - **+
* Now, where are the gfx then for the game ? ;D
* 37h patterns using the same bassline..:]
* This tune is kinda funky, I like that :)
* dullish; repetitive... has potential
* hmmm... make a game, and i'll play it ;)
* wowow. let's get togheter and dance. 90% europop.
* Simple. Kinda nice chords. Mediocre.
* interesting but pretty boring. nice sfx. vary those drums.
* please, don't make a game to go with this song. :) the beat was quite
dull and boring, and would be annoying during the course of a game :)
the chords were done well though, with fade-ins/outs for once :) and
went well with the bassline in the part void of any beat. the gap with
no sound wasn't really effective.
* Great rhythm and nice bass ! Cool shoot'em-all game style music.. Yeah
! You should try to make a game for this one :)
* good job.
* repetative, boring, but the strings made it a bit better. that bass
just got soooo anoying though! :) and the "leadish" type thing was
very cheezy. i did not like the ending
* Bad ending.
* Well written, but it's a shame i had to wait for 3 mins. for a non -
existant change to appear. It was just too boreing...
16. Turrican - t_mars . it 3.944 - **+
* So, could this be less repetitive, PLEASE ?
* needs a melody to make it interesting
* no, this just isn't right.
* The coolest thing about this song is the title. I think that
should say it all. Yipes!
* dune influenced are we? :) i like it, it's original. be careful of
your notes clashing in the later parts of the tune. and those chords
are a tad boring. nonetheless, nice track.
* This is very strange tune with strange beat. There is a lack of idea o
r I didn't understand this :) Becomes too repetitive after a while..
* love the intro.. the strings sound really nice. but then what? just
the same thing overandover
* Sucks
* Hmm.. Verry Weird, and slightly boreing, but then again quite good too
. But nothing special here..
17. Axl - axltest . xm 3.789 - **+
* uh... i gave this one 3 points for being cute
* heheh... classy tune axl :>
* Drums too high. Chords disturbingly ugly.
What IS this?
* Hmmm, the old musical brew again. I'm talking 'let's start with a
few chords and build on them'. Still, it's not bad for what it is.
And the ending is interesting.
(well you didn't expect me to vote the coder of a prog like this
highly did you?? :D bwahahahahahh!!)
* What a very cheerful tune. Wayhey.
* the beginning was quite abrupt. the harmony/chords etc were passable.
the beat, though almost 'silly':) (that "bwaap" sample :) ) fitted the
general mood of the song. quite a short track to say the least.. ok so
it was a 'test'. :)
* Hehe Axl ! I didn't know you're allowed to compete :) Anyway, this tun
e is quite catchy but too short. Those chords are strange and didn't s
ound to my ears very well. Maybe a bit more time spent on it would hel
p :) But overall a nice try.. heh (Hope I won't be kicked :)
* cute... :)
* heaheheah - way too happy. makes me want to jump up and down...
sounds like the select screen for a racing video game =]
* Sucks
* Begining wasn`t bad. Word to strange noises bit ;p
* Sounds OK, but no real variation, and it's too short...
18. Zephyr - carrot . it 3.611 - **+
* Well, I didn't laugh (should I ?). Starts really messy...
* Nice tune......
* cute :) you shoulda tried to shove it into 4 channels since you
used only 5.
* it doesn't lack direction, exactly. it's more a lack of groove.
* "Look, mom! I'm tonedeaf!"
* this was like an excellent dish badly in need of salt. the tune is
very well done but i wouldn't have executed it quite like that.
what's that intro doing there anyway? echo those leads. keep those
arpeggios going on longer... they're good chords but so sudden i could
hardly tell what they were. leads are too loud. anyway, i'm being
picky and bitchy. a phat track.
* hmm, i wanna listen to this track with better samples...
* woah, get out the c64's and reminisce with this little choon :) i
can't say too much for the beginning but when it got into it it was a
nice, happy lil' tune which would've been moreso if a little fuller,
more atmospheric sound was achieved - though not bad for 5 channels!
the beat was a *little* awkward with the ....X....X..X... overused and
often not well done snare pattern, but otherwise quite nice all round.
the key change was effective but was discarded almost straight away..
* Silly intro in this chiptune. But i liked the chip lead.
* heh... multiple parts... woo... unfortunately i hated this :D
* Sucks
* I`m not a fan of chip tunes or carrot cake.
* Not bad.. a nice Bass and percussion, but boreing...
19. Starf0x - f0x-min4. it 3.222 - **
* Hey, did this nasty CLICK come from my IW/IT or has there been a purpo
se ? ;)
* Damn, too noisy! You never heard of volume control?
* interesting 3 voice jam... could've used more work in the voicing
to make it more interesting... i liked the progression
* too jolly :)
* Have you just recently learned the internal loop command?
Why use only one samp? Bah.
* decent melody but there must have been a better sample to use? oh,
and how about some drums? :)
* Very clicky (like most chip tunes) and the arpeggios don't work well.
But otherwise its very well done.
* well, for 1 sample and 3 channels i guess writing something like this
(even if it was nothing groundbreaking) does show some control over
use of samples, etc.. still there many synth/bass/lead samples there
to choose from :) harmony was there, even though it did evoke a
somewhat sad or dull mood.
* Hmm.. nice idea with one sample, but sounds odd. It's not very well ma
de chip tune..
* gameboy muzique !8^]
* Sucks
* I liked this song, but the repetitivness of it all lost you alot of
marks.. It was a really good song for the first 30 seconds but then it
lost it's novelty...
20. Klausi - klswamp . it 3.056 - **
* Could have been better. Also, we have another incident of much needed
volume control.
* nice speedy oldschool ditty.
* noise doesn't necessarely make good music :)
* Although very ugly now and again, it's original and quite well
executed.
* well done, theme goes well with the tune. i can see bits of catch
that goblin in there :).
* argh! the beat reminds me of that damn annoying techno beatloop from
old '90 or so techno, especially those amiga mods! (ie. horrible :) )
it was overall quite unrefined, there was too much really going on at
times to hear any part clearly, though i guess this was done to create
the desired mood of franticness :) the actual structure, etc. of the
song was good, notably with the slow section which i guess was where
you found the letter or whatever. ;)
* Silly fast tune. Slow part in the middle is the change but doesn't fit
in there..
* klausi: "mom, where's my letter?" klausi's mom: "oh, that... it was fr
om some guy who called himself 'god' or something like that... whoever
it was wanted you to know that if you entered tt29, you would be stru
ck down by lightning for bludgeoning the ears of poor innocent tracker
s with that hideous piece of noise you wrote... whatever that meant. i
threw it away." klausi: "no, fuck it! i'm going to enter with the wor
st piece of shit ever vomited into impulse tracker JUST TO SPITE THEM
ALL!@#!@ HA HA HAAAAAAA!"
* the panning hurt my ears *alot* and the uninspired, repetative, and..
most of all... cliche'd bass got *old*!
* Sucks
* *NOISE* *NOISE* *NOISE*
* Either my soundcard is screwed, or this song is extremely noisy....
It's a nice idea, nice theme, but not such a good song. Nice climax
at the end though...
21. Ryan - r_hace . xm 2.947 - **
* Hmm. What about visiting a psychiatrist???
* the bassline is untuned.. weird tune!
* You sick bastard. I hope your not really like that. Your words of sick
ness grant you a 0 this day. I hope you a short life span. Sick muther
phuker!
* you need to get out of the house more often.
* uhm... it could've been good. but it isn't. and another thing, if that
sample-text shit is supposed to be funny, you should seek help immedia
tly.
* Tonedeaf. Lame text.
* It's nice to know that you have a rich and challenging private life
when your tt-tune suck that much.
Btw. Bret Easton Ellis eat your intestines out.
* whoah, the phearsome ryan and his even more phearsome sampletexts :D.
for once the chords seem to fit... oh wait, i haven't heard all the
tune yet :P. it's sitting-on-the-fence music, but at least 90% of the
notes go together ok. which ain't bad at all.
* Weird. But it was quite cool (especially the beginning).
* nice flowing chords in this one, which fit in well with the bassline.
the beat though, ugh; one word: crap. :) quite short, didn't really
have anywhere to go, and the few 'melody' things at the end didn't
help too much.
one thing. the text on the instrument page.. <ahem.. :) > you not only
advocate such profanity but you actually write stuff up like that
yourself, and you can still say that 2mb 'jerky boys' .wav i sent you
was sick?!?! ;)
* Quite orchestral beginning but the whole tune has strange mood. There
is lack of ideas..
* i should have given you a *1* for that instrument-text thing...
the song was good until the really nasty drums
* Sucks
* Crap! Plus depraved. And I thourght I was bad.
* Ummm... the text is kind of,... 'weird'... and so is the song. Pretty
god dayamn boreing if you ask me. Oh.. by the way, they do have a
parakeet.. and it's REALLY hot stuff.. !
22. LOgre2'3 - 2'3_tt29. it 1.053 - *
* Hey, man. Don't track, whenever you are sick!
* try to expend more time tracking..
* Dissonant. Needs a lot more structure.
* what's this? uhm... just takes up space in my opinion. it sucks rather
badly, i'm sorry to say.
* UGH. never track while drunk.
* Ouch! Must...mock...Logre... MAN, this SUCKS! Bigtime! The Finals!
Superbowl! (mix these together and add one spoon sugar and some
yeast) Now if you'll excuse me I must go buy some Globoids.
* ack, what are you trying to do here? the piece isn't coherent at all..
i can tell you're trying to be dark but get your damn notes in
tune! vary those drums! it's not that hard dammit...
* It is criminal to force other people to listen to this.
* hmm.. to say this is nothing great would be an understatement.
the beat is irritating, the melody is quite uninspired. i think the
only good thing i can bring myself to say about it is that you happen
to know how to make the pseudo-flange effect by slightly detuning
the same sample simultaneously. (well, i assume that's how you did it
- i wasn't bothered to look.)
* Stupid beginning. The bass line in the whole tune is the only exceptio
n, but the rest is boring. Doesn't have any strong idea and is too rep
etitive..
* no! noooooooooooooooo!
* this song gives me a headache. Like all of your other songs. boring
repetative and just bad. sorry
* Sucks sucks sucks!
* boring boring boring and maybe just a bit BORING!!!!!!!
I`d hate to hear your 5min remix of bashing hi-hats.
* This song lacks variation, Some 'strange' sounding parts, plus it's
repetitive and boreing... But no THAT bad..

-----< info >---------------------------------------------------------------
The Trackering is divided into 2 weeks, here's the info :
---- compo ---- Week : 1
The Trackering is held on channel #tt, every first and third
Saturday->Sunday of every month at 01.00AM CET / 07.00PM EST. I'll be
offering a samplepack in 1 hour, if you get them I'll declare you an
contestant. If you weren't there in time, you can always get the sample-
pack from ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos/incoming/music/tt/samples, just make
sure you get the most recent pack. In the samplepack there is a file
called deadline.txt, this shows the date and time when the deadline is.
Right after you get the pack you can begin tracking.
I want all the tunes back before the following weekend, same time(1am
cet/7pm est). I'll be on IRC as axl_ (of course) at that time so you can
just dcc them to me, or mail it to 'axelsson@freenet.hut.fi' with either
UUEncode or MIME. This is just the deadline so you can send your tune
to me during the week.
* Note : TT is on AnotherNet,
so connect your irc-client to one of these AnotherNet servers:
- neato.org
- irc.netnation.com
- serve.org
---- voting ---- week : 2
The vote-pack will be out 1-2 hours after the compo-deadline and
the pack will be available on IRC and on FTP :
- ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos/incoming/music/tt/votepacks
- ftp.arosnet.se /demo/musicdisk
- filename : tt##vote.zip - where ## is the number of the contest.
Everyone can judge the TT compo, but a contestant must judge it or
he'll be disqualified.
The voting system is a scale from 0-9. There will be a vote-form included
in the vote-pack, which is almost self-explainatory :), If you need
help on how to vote, then just mail me.
The results will be out 1 week after the compo has ended, it'll be
distributed on IRC and in the next sample-pack. You can also get it from
ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos/incoming/music/tt/results
